Speedcubing – Arnold Sports Festival Australia
Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre

It’s the bestselling toy of all time and solving the Rubik’s Cube as fast as possible is attracting nimble-fingered competitors around the world.

And the Arnold Sports Festival Australia will have some of the best competing in the Cubing Classic.

But stay alert while watching the best – the world record for solving the Rubik’s Cube is 4.74 seconds.

Solving the Rubik’s Cube as fast as possible has become a highly competitive sport known as “speedcubing”. Invented in 1974 and popularised in the 1980’s, the Rubik’s Cube immediately became the world’s most popular toy.

Since the regeneration of speedcubing in 2003, over 60,000 people have competed in more than 2500 competitions around the world to see who can solve the cube in the fastest time.

Come and see some of the world’s fastest speedcubers in action at the Arnold Sports Festival Australia, competing in the World Cube Association sanctioned Cubing Classic.

You will see competitors solve: a Rubik’s Cube with one handed, while blindfolded, and various twisty puzzles such as the 6×6, 7×7, Pyraminx and Megaminx. Timing equipment from Speed Stacks will be used and WCA regulations will be adhered to with a WCA delegate present.
