Cup stacking also known as Sport Stacking is a highly competitive sport that involves up-stacking and down-stacking 12 cups in predetermined sequences. Competitors compete against the clock to beat their times but it’s the Head to Head competition that is the most exciting element of Cup Stacking.
Wayne Godinet, the creator of cup-stacking, came up with the idea in the 1980’s in a Boys & Girls club in Oceanside, California. Godinet’s aim was to create a competitive environment, where individuals of all sporting abilities could race head to head against one another and have a good time. Godinet’s idea has now left a world-wide legacy, with competitors from all over the world competing annually. Cup Stacking was introduced into Australia in 2005 and continues to grow through many schools P.E and positive Education programs.
During the Arnold Sports Festival, you can witness hands moving at lightning fast speeds, as some of Australia’s best cup stackers gather to compete and demonstrate their skills. There will also be a chance for you to learn in our have a go area. So, come along and see what cup stacking is all about!
