Arnold Runs for the Kids!
The Arnold Sports Festival Australia is pleased to announce we will be an official partner of the 2018 Herald Sun / Citilink Run For the Kids.
As such, all registered entrants in the Run For The Kids event can pick up their race kits from the event foyer on Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th of March, 2018. Even better is the fact that participants in the Herald Sun/ Citylink Run For The Kids will receive free entry to the Australia’s largest multi sports festival and fitness expo on Sunday March 18th upon presentation of their race bib after the race on Sunday 18th March!
Tony Doherty, Arnold’s Australian partner and Arnold Sports Festival organiser says “Children are a cause close to Arnold’s heart. He loves coming to Melbourne each year. This is his 6th visit to Australia in as many years and we are so proud to be able to help raise funds from the Arnold Sports Festival and the Herald Sun City Link Run For The Kids for the Good Friday Appeal.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will officially start The Herald Sun/CityLink Run For the Kids on Sunday 18th March 2018 as part of the worldwide star’s visit to Melbourne.
Arnold says “ I’m on a global fitness crusade to get kids off the couch and get them moving. The Arnold Sports Festival and the Run For the Kids are fantastic partners in promoting health and fitness to and for everyone. It’s simple, if it jiggles it’s fat! Get fit!”
Race Director Steve Moneghetti says “ How good is it for us to have Arnold Schwarzenegger start the Race next year? He is a worldwide superstar who is committed to getting people active so he is an ideal ‘fit’ for our event. I am delighted to welcome him to our team and know that He’ll be back for future events once he sees what a great cause we are running for.”
The Herald Sun/CityLink Run For the Kids is one of Victoria’s most loved events. It is a community event with over 30,000 participants, it shuts down much of the city including major thoroughfares even allowing participants to run through the Domain Tunnel and over the Bolte Bridge with its primary aim is to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.The appeal is maintained, funded and nurtured by the Herald and Weekly Times, and since 1956, by television partner Channel Seven.
After a spectacular debut in 2006, the Herald Sun | CityLink Run for the Kids has grown to one of Victoria’s largest mass-participation fun runs with participants experiencing a tremendous thrill running over a great course for a great cause.The event is proud of its position as the single biggest fundraising contributor for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. To date the event has raised over $15.6 million dollars for the appeal.
